VolleyPalooza 2000, held February 26-27 in South Beach (Florida) was the seventh annual event. And it continued the trend of each one getting bigger and better, with more teams, more activities, more sponsors, and more fun. And as always, there's incentive to win, as this year's winning team got a five day trip to the Cayman Islands.

Long time South Beach volleyball player Rick Delgado was master of ceremonies, helping keep the fans into the action, and aware of sponsors and associated activities. Other guest appearances this year included Bill Bellamy (MTV) and Tommy Davidson (In Living Color) who took the stage and got the place rocking even more after the first day's matches were over.

There was a live performance by highly popular Third Eye Blind, and with the volleyball nets down for the day, the whole beach became a giant dance floor. To add even more glamour and beauty, there was a volleyball game played between the Playboy X-treme team and the Miami Heat professional basketball team dancers. Other celebrities participating or seen at the event included "Downtown" Julie Brown (MTV), recording artist Taylor Dayne, action film star Steven Seagal, recording artist Jon Secada, and tennis star Anna Kournikova.

This year's winning team was The Green Agency (www.greenagency.com), consisting of Natalie de Castro, Christopher Graham, Ethan Edwards, Bernard Garsen, Jose Guerro, Luaren Ashley, Arlene Tur, Tamara McGill, and Robert Santamarina. VolleyPalooza 2000 was sponsored in part by Ocean Drive magazine(www.oceandrive.com), Malibu Rum, Ford Motor Company, The Box music television network, Y-100 radio, and CBS-4 television.
